As we all know, water is heavier than oil; Therefore, as oil approaches the pump it is trapped
in the canister. Now, with epoxy-coated canisters and resin-treated paper, there is no need to
worry about rusting or pitting of the filter canister, or deterioration of the filter paper.

The element assembly consists of cured resin-impregnated paper which removes harmful foreign
particles from the fuel. Metal end caps plus a liberal amount of thermo setting adhesives
provide positive seals preventing by-passing of contaminant-laden fuel. The perforated steel
core provides internal element strength and support.
 
The lid assembly is composed of the base plate - arched for extra strength. The cover holds
the gasket which provides a positive seal between the filter and equipment. The lid assembly
is roll-seamed to the shell shich provides leaktight assembly.
